Cooks Cove Information

 

 

My class and I were learning more about Cook's Cove in Tolaga Bay so we would be prepared and would know what to expect and be aware of any dangers when we go on our Year 5 Neighbourhood trip. When I was creating my slide I found it hard to understand some of the information on the internet. I found the sentences very complex and hard to understand. I also found it hard to rewrite the information in an easy way so you guys could understand it better. I found it easy to gather pictures and backgrounds for my slides. I also found publishing my slide easy as well. I really enjoyed doing this with my class and learning more about Cooks Cove and why people like to go there. Next time I need to add more description and more slides to my presentation and make the pictures and the writing stand out more! Cooks cove is big and beautiful with an outlook of the blue ocean and sky with clouds floating by. It has fun tracks for trampers, families and kids to enjoy in the happy sunshine by the white sand and swishy water. Stay safe and carry on! Kia Kaha New Zealand!

Real or Fake?

 

I was learning to decide whether certain ads or posters that are posted on SOCIAL MEDIA are fake or real. This is a skill that grown up's and kid's need to use to interparate what is best for them and others. I found out that we shouldn't believe everything that you see on social media/"the internet." Media is everywhere and we should learn how to use it correctly and take responsibility for how we use it. People tend to believe most things that they say and spread the word and make what they've seen sound real. Also, a small group of people that post don't always put up apropriate things. I've experienced that before and I don't use the app I was on any longer. We were also learning to use our manaiakalani skills to create my "amazing" post!  I also realy enjoyed thinking up crazy ideas for our posts and having fun sharing and seeing our other classmates fake or real designs.The lesson is that seeing isn't alway's believing and you stay off of things that you think aren't right for you. Can you guess if "MY" blog post's are real or fake?

Famous People I Admire

 

We were learning more about our idols/hero's. I found it easy to take in information about the person I chose. I found it hard to find awesome pictures of this person. I really enjoyed doing slides about my hero. Next time I need to add more slides and more information about my idol. Our class was finding out more about our idols. We found it interesting to learn more facts and understand more things about them. We found out what an actual "heroes" personality is and how they act and treat other people. We also made sure that our post was interesting and full of exciting facts. Maybe other people actually like the person/idol that I chose and admire and look up to them as much as I do! I also noticed that my classmates were starting to realise that everyone has different tastes and opinions. It showed that all of us should be different and that we should all be our true selves. 

Mission Impossible

When I was at home browsing some other people's blogs and I saw something called "powtoon". I copied in the link and made an account. I used some cool effects and filters and added some writing and stickers to my mission impossible video. I found it quite hard to put everything in order and pop up at the right time. I also found it hard to delete and put on because powtoon is an app that takes a while to actually get to work. I found it easy to upload to my blog and think about what to make my powtton about. I enjoyed posting it on my blog and showing it to my friedns, family and my teachers. I found it a good way to be able to make things stand out and get recognised on my blog.

Book creator

Our classroom was learning how to use a new app called book creator. I found it easy to sing up for the app and workout how to use it. I experimented with my friend Nevaeh and we found that there were many background's to choose from.

I found it hard to make the book with a buddy because we didn't really agree on what to do and how to do it.

I really enjoyed finishing our comic because we felt good that we had achieved something.

Next time I need to add more detail to our comic and make the pictures more clear.

Miss Trunchbull

We were learning more about different characters from the book Matilda by Roald Dahl. I found it easy to think of a bad person from the book. I found it hard to descibe the character. I really enjoyed putting an animation on my slide. Next time I need to make my photo look better.

We were learning about writing. I found it easy to come up with a good topic to write about. I found it hard to write the story with description. I really enjoyed doing this in lockdown. Next time I need to be more discriptive in my writing.

Lockdown Maths

We were learning about maths. I found it easy to figure out the maths sums. I really enjoyed doing this at home. Next time I need to get the answers faster.

Dolphins reading assignment

We were learning about dolphins. I found it easy to remember new facts about dolphins. I found it hard to answer the questions. I really enjoyed doing this in lockdown. Next time I need to put more effort in answering the questions.

The Arctic fox reading activity

We were learning about arctic foxes. I found it easy to find facts about the arctic fox. I found it hard to find good pictures of arctic foxes. I really enjoyed making the slide with my friends. Next time I need to work harder on making my slides.

Fridge Magnets

We were learning about how to use sentence starters to use to comment on blogs. I found it easy to find everything on our cybersmart page. I found it hard to think of new sentence stems. I really enjoyed putting the magnets on the fridge. Next time I need to put more sentence stems on my fridge.

Tolaga Bay Wharf Facts

We were learning aboutdifferent places in New Zealand. I found it easy to choose a place to write about. I found it hard to find facts about the place I was writing about. I really enjoyed writing this story with my friend. Next time I need to use more discriptive words in my writing.

How much weight can an egg hold?

We were learning how much an egg can hold and how different eggs could probably hold different weights. We found it easy to work together as a class to predict how much weight an egg could hold. We found it hard to balance the egg on the bench with only cellotape tubes holding it up. I really enjoyed watching Mr.S stack dictionaries on top of the egg.🌺🍉🍑 Next time I need to think of more questions to ask the teacher about why the egg holds up so much weight!🌺🤩🥝🍇🍉

I was learning about the elephants toothpaste science experiment. I found it easy to do the experiment. I found it hard to make the slides an animation. I really enjoyed making the slides an animation. Next time I need to make the slides better.

Challenge

We were learning about how to think of things that are challenging to us. I found it easy to put the slides together. I found it hard think of all the things that I think are challenging. I really enjoyed coming up with ideas with my friends. Next time I need to become quicker when I make up ideas and slides.
